volcom skate day!!!!

hi folks, well i think phil has filled you all in pretty well on what`s been happening in spoon world, but on behalf of grinspoon i`d like to express our collective sadness to the guys from 28days, and scott murray`s family and friends. contrary to some reports, we`re actually mates with 28days and scott`s death is not only a great shock but a terrible loss. he was a genuinely nice guy who was also a great muso and our thoughts go out to everyone affected by his death....on a less drastic note, we heard nitocris are breaking up. they`ve been a rocking band for over ten years and actually gave the spoon some of our first ever gigs and tours, and it`s sad to see them go, but i`m sure these girls will be popping up in new (musical)outfits soon.so cheers to jessie, kira, andie, sarah and morgana for rocking the house with the spoon, take it easy, joe

hi gang, well we`ve got quite the weekend coming up don`t you think? firstly the test series against the kiwis kicked off yesterday, with fellow bass player(ha-ha) brett lee getting amongst the runs....and on sunday the frenchies take on the mighty socceroos who we`re all hoping will finally qualify for the world cup later on in the month. and of course lets not forget that other great sporting event, the federal election- personally i urge everyone who`s eligible to get off their lazy asses and vote for their favourite polly, whoever that may be- just so long as it isn`t that short balding man with the weasely eyes and the funny eyebrows!!anyway getting back to the rock, the spoon have completed six songs, one of which is to be our first single. that song is being mixed by a legendary(to us!!) engineer in the U.S, and should hit the radio in not too long. next we go back into the studio to bang out nine more songs to complete the album, which i reckon is gonna be heavier and more melodic than Easy. kris` hand is finally coming good, he got the cast off the other day and he reckons the scar is pretty ugly, but with some intense physio he should be right to drum in time to record. stay tuned for new pics and info of our next recording session on the site, and take it easy as ever, cheers joe
